Celebrating the Season

Right before Thanksgiving, Tegan and I joined Davian's class in their Thanksgiving celebration.  Davian even made Tegan a placemat for him to feast on!  Tegan doesn't look too thrilled here, but he really did have a good time, I promise you!

We spent a quiet Thanksgiving at home.  Black Friday, we went to Sacramento to visit IKEA and ended up in historical Sacramento.  We had a great time and even took a horse and carriage ride.

After we got home, the boys helped get the Christmas tree out and started decorating.  Davian was a good helper this year!  Tegan was not so interested.

Every year, the boys pick out a new ornament for the tree.  We put their names and the year on it.  When they have families of their own they will have a box of ornaments from their childhood.  I know that when I pull out my ornaments from when I was a child, it is so fun to remember Christmases past.  This year we actually had enough ornaments on the tree that we didn't have to use any of the silver balls that I usually have to add in!

Since Thanksgiving, we have celebrated the Christmas season with the lighting of the community Christmas tree and the Christmas parade.  It was our first ever nighttime parade.  The boys LOVED it!

What parade is complete without a llama and camel?

Merry Christmas!
